Advantage Logistics was started as a division of Stott & Davis Motor Express to help customers with truckload shipments.  We are based in Auburn, New York serving clients nationwide and internationally.  Advantage Logistics was designed to fill the need that small to mid-sized manufacturers and retailers have for transportation services which allow them to limit the size of their transportation and traffic departments while keeping shipping costs down.  We design and implement customized transportation solutions for retailers and manufacturers who need to reduce costs and improve customer service.  We separate ourselves from larger providers through our personalized, professional services that demonstrate sensitivity to our target market.

Getting Started

• During our initial meeting we will discuss the benefits of using Advantage Logistics and answer any questions you may have.  If you decide to take "Advantage" of our services we would then need to gather some information from you.  We would need copies of freight bills from the past 6 months to a year.  We would also need to learn about some of the problems you may be experiencing now and suggest ways to avoid those same problems in the future.
• 6 months to a year of past freight bills are reviewed.  We break down the data from your freight bills into a format that we can use to prepare a bid package to present to a number of freight carriers.  We will also include in the bid package to have any accessorial fees waived.
• Bid packages will be collected from the freight carriers and evaluated.  After we have evaluated the bid packages we will present you with our recommendations.  Of course you are not required to use our recommendations, you have the final say in which carriers are chosen.  We normally recommend one main National and one main Regional carrier. 

What's next?

Freight Payment and Auditing services are implemented. 

This involves all freight bills coming directly to our office for processing.  We will ensure that your carriers invoices are correct.  Each invoice is audited by our staff and checked for accuracy.  Freight carriers often make mistakes in their freight bills.  Freight bills are often rated incorrectly, wrong discounts applied, freight is classified incorrectly, or accessorial charges are added that should not be.  Any mistakes that are found are corrected from our office.  Only one invoice is sent for you to pay for your weekly shipments.  A detailed list of shipments accompanies each weekly invoice.  Each month a detailed cost savings analysis is sent to your shipping manager. 

Routing Guides are Established

Freight is often misdirected to the wrong carriers.  This can be a costly mistake.  Misdirected freight can cost hundreds of dollars more than if the freight had been taken by the proper carrier.  Any questions that can not be answered by the routing guide can be answered by sending one of our staff an email or we are just a phone call away. 

Freight Charges

Many times shipping charges are included in the cost of the product being manufactured.  Our customers need to know these charges prior to actual shipping in order to providing a quote to their customers.  Receiving these charges are as easy as sending us an email, fax, or giving us a phone call.  We will usually respond within 15 minutes of receiving your request for a quote.
